I love marketing and I love fashion, so why not put them together? Marketing in the fashion industry is easier than you think. Keep two things in mind: Plan Ahead. All you need are a few tips.
First, use social media to your advantage. There are so many platforms that you can use your fashion in a visual outlook. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, and Instagram are just a few. With these platforms, show off some outfits to friends and family. Once they get an idea of what you are selling, it’ll make them want more. I know it will because I do it all the time. Since we are most likely college students and entering the real world, we are looking for cheap/cute outfits. Depending on how your clothes are, don’t be afraid to add the price with the item. This will make it easier for your audience to go onto your website and buy clothes.
Second, event pages are great. Get a sign-up sheet going. This will help you understand who is interested in your clothes, so you know what your target market is. This will help monitor online apps too. With the addition of an event (aka a fashion show), mobile apps will make things easier for everyone. It’ll keep the audience engaged.
Third, emailing isn’t dead, take it to your advantage. With the sign-ups from the event and through social media, send out a newsletter each month. Tell everyone what’s new to your company. People love knowing the new trends and will forward to emails to get an idea on what’s in during that time, especially during the holidays. It’s the best time to take advantage of emails.
Forth, leverage audiences. Do you have a partner? Any other friends that blog? Use them to your advantage. Have them talk about your company and also show them visuals. This is actually a great way to get noticed. This will spread your audience to people other than your friends and family.
Fifth and lastly, make your audience feel special. Everyone loves personal messages. In the emails you send out, make sure you throw in first names. That will make someone open the message, trust me, I do it all the time. Give your audience a sneak peek of what’s coming in to your stores. Give them information for being loyal customers, they’ll love it. This will help your audience realize that even through actions they are special.
This all may seem hard, but all it takes is your passion and hard work. Once you get the audience engaged, then it’ll only grow. Use these steps to take you to your end goal because you WILL make it. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!!!
